Imagine what research could be tomorrow
A NEW WORLD OF SCIENCE
GINGO IN NUMBERS
It is the quality of the science, not the journal's brand, that matters. Most importantly of all, we scientists need to take action (...) Science must break the tyranny of the luxury journals. The result will be better research that bette serves science and society.
(...) Starting to look beyond impact factor as the most important signal of quality. Strong peer review could join emerging metrics like reproducibility and the willingness to share data as indicators that one journal is more reliable than another.
Our job is not to write scientific articles and fill in grant application files (...) Our job is to teach, to produce scientific knowledge to better understand the world in which we live and share this knowledge with people.
